XLI
Super Bowl XLI is this weekend and I can hardly wait! I love football even though I haven't followed it too well for the past many years. I'm hoping the Bears take it, although I haven't got anything against the Colts. The Bear are from the old "Black and Blue" division and thus our old arch-rivals. Since neither the Packers nor the Vikings made it this far this year, I'm for the Bears.
Who are you rooting for (and isn't "rooting" some weird slang elsewhere, I seem to remember reading on a blog a while back?) So OK, who are you CHEERING for? Even if you don't enjoy the football game, the commercials are worth watching. People talk about some of them for years later.

Err yes. In Australia, "rooting" is a word for.... well.... you know.
;-)
I'm "rooting for" the Bears. Only because my husband has a Chicago bears hat!
I guess I'm for the Colts...but only because (and this is going to sound SOOOOOO girly), I like colts (baby horses) better than I do bears. (big burly meat eating furry beasts...;)
Actually, we usually go to a Superbowl party where we bet on these squares (don't ask me....I have no idea what I'm doing...The PK just tells me "Okay, pick three squares." so I do). It has something to do with matching the numbers you pick (in the square) with the scores at the end of each quarter. So actually, I don't care who wins...as long as I win!!!
Now if there'd have been a Florida team playing...well, that goes without saying! :)
I was born in Illinois, so I should say the Bears, but I actually hope the Colts win. I really have no justification as to why.
I like watching the game with friends even if I'm not much of a football fan. They get so excited. It's fun especially to root for the team everyone else is hoping will lose.. at least in a teasing way.
HOW BOUT' THEM COWBOYS? ooops!
Since the Cowboys didn't make it, I am cheering for the Colts. I like Peyton Manning and he doesn't have a Superbowl ring. He hasn't ever made it to the Superbowl.
I havn't got the foggiest! Rooting has a whole differnt meaning here (refer to Ms Mac) and also in England Football is a totally different game too. But bears are cuddly so as I am in a cuddly mood I will go for the Bears
I don't mind football, but I don't watch it much anymore. I'll probably watch the SB, however, or some of it, and cheer for the Colts. Even back when I watched it more, the Bears never really appealed to me.
I'm rooting for the commercials! I really don't care who wins, but if forced to pick a side I guess the Bears, as their coach was on the rams coaching staff for a while. The truth of the matter? I don't care much, or know much about Football.
I really don't care...is that bad of me? I also don't think I'll even watch it. I've never been very interested in pro sports and it's getting less and less as I get older. I'm sure there will be some good chick flick on cable instead! hee hee
